Mr. Almer Johnsie Bishop of Greensburg, son of the late David Lewis Bishop and Etta Frances Bishop, was born on May 16, 1927 in Hart County, and departed this life on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010 at the Regiswoods Nursing Facility in Louisville.  He was 82 years, nine months and seven days of age.
He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a former truck driver for the Greensburg Bottling Company.
He united in marriage to Jeanette Estes on July 21, 1952 who survives.
Other survivors include four sons and two daughters-in-law, Charles “Elk” Bishop and Kenneth “Gap” Bishop both of Greensburg, William “Bo” and Lisa Bishop of Louisville, James “Bugs” and Debbie Bishop of Hodgenville; a daughter, Janet Edwards of Greensburg; a brother, Garnett Bishop of Greensburg; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral services for Mr. Almer Johnsie Bishop were conducted at 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Oak Grove Cemetery.  Bro. Roger Moran and Bro. Gilbert Larimore officiated.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Brandon Bishop, David Robertson, Terry Bishop, Chris Shutters, Edgar Yates, Edward Robertson, Joe Yates and Lawrence Yates.
Honorary pallbearers were Eli Milby, Orry Bishop, Stephen Bishop, Billy Robertson, Andrew Yates and Tommy Yates.

Mr. Hubert Davis was born July 25, 1928, in Green County, to the late Ezra Washington Davis and Mamie Cook Davis.  He departed this life Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital, having attained the age of eighty-one years and seven months.
Mr. Davis had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Summersville Baptist Church.  He was a former member and Deacon of Macedonia Baptist Church for several years.  He was a Green County School bus driver for thirty-six years and a retired farmer.  He was also a Veteran of the Korean War and a life member of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Shirley Ann Davis. He is survived by his wife Stella McCubbins Lewis Davis; one son, Kerry Davis and his wife Lanetta; two step-children and their spouses, Louise and Bill Price, and Jimmy and Debbie Lewis; three sisters, Geneva Higgason, Celsie Stewart and Rachel Smith; two grandchildren, Kyle Davis and Lindsey and Steven Fields; and three great-grandchildren, Bradley and Keaton Davis and Ethan Fields all of Greensburg; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The visitation was Feb. 26 and the funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Feb. 27 at Macedonia Baptist Church with burial in the Macedonia Cemetery. Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Robert Stewart, Gene Allen Smith, Darrell Higgason, Russ Stewart, Gary Burris and Gary Knight. Honorary pallbearers were the Green County School bus drivers and members of the James L. Pruitt VFW Post 5813.


Mr. John Walton Hall of Greensburg,  son of the late John M. Hall and Ella Susan Hall, was born on Aug. 1, 1934 in Taylor County and departed this life on Friday, Feb. 26, 2010 at the Golden Living Center-Green Hill.  He was 75 years, six months and 25 days of age.
He was a lifelong farmer.
Survivors include a sister, Eva Black of Indiana; four nephews, Roger Hall, David Hall, Mike Hall and Gary Black all of Indianapolis; four special cousins, Wilbert and Maxine Bennett of Summersville and Henry W. and Linda Pierce of Campbellsville; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by a brother and sister, Adrian D. Hall and Elsie Beams.
The funeral services for Mr. John Walton Hall were conducted at 12 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial in the Aetna Grove Cemetery.  Bro. J.W. Bennett officiated.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.

Mr. Billy Gene Posey of Hodgenville, son of the late Elbert Neal Posey and Mae Florence Rogers Posey, was born on July 20, 1941 in Adair County and departed this life on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 at his home.  He was 67 years, seven months and five days of age.
He was a self-employed construction worker.
He united in marriage to Nellie Mae Grant on June 9, 1962 who survives.
Other survivors include 17 children, Patricia Marton of Cave City, Rebecca Posey of LeGrange, Tavis Posey, Justin Posey, Carol Davis, Deborah Patterson and Chrystal York all of Greensburg, Barbara Posey, Kimberly Davis and Kasey Salazar all of Hodgenville, Willie Posey of Campbellsville, Jamie Posey, Nicholas Posey and Steven Posey all of Albany, Christopher Posey of Tennessee, Brandy Posey of Horse Cave and Joshua Posey of Edmonton; two brothers, Loren Posey of Greensburg and L.P. Posey of Russell Springs; six sisters, Mary Alice Meadows and Brenda Faye Caffee, and Peggy Curry all of Greensburg, Linda Kaye Hall of Summersville, Mary Lou Edwards and Connie Patterson both of Campbellsville; 31 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Posey was also preceded in death by a daughter: Belinda Posey on September 11, 2006; a sister, Lori Lynn Posey; four brothers, Junior Posey, James Ray Posey, Sam Posey and Larry Thomas Posey.
The funeral services for Mr. Billy Gene Posey will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Bro. Darrell Hensley will be officiating.
Pallbearers were his sons.
